Hello. I’m Sharron, and I write books.

New Hollycopse is my contemporary fiction series about horses, people, business, friendship, loyalty, pressure, and the unexpected turns that change lives.

Sharron Idol is a veteran geek: partly-self-trained in computers, although she does hold a couple or three Microsoft qualifications. She’s also qualified in electronics – holding a City & Guilds 300 and 301 in analogue and digital electronics.

Idol’s also on-the-job sales-trained: She’s been selling since her teens, having worked in various retail outlets in the nineteen-hundreds, including having been both a canvasser, canvassing manager, and a sales consultant in the home improvements industry almost into the Twenty-First Century. She’s also run stalls at boot sales and markets, as well as indulging in internet marketing. At one point she was building computers to order and fixing customers’ machines.

More recently Sharron embarked upon a music career as a pop-star. Due to age and disability the tuneful tenacity had to be cut short, but after a short break due to declining health and physical ability she took up the gauntlet of a writing career in 2023, embarking upon her maiden project which soon became the New Hollycopse trilogy.

Even more recently Sharron has further established an online presence for both herself and her New Hollycopse series’ websites. – Creating a new multi-functional illustrated website, including additional sub-domains dealing with the second and third series. Newhollycopse dot com has been made to be a multi-level domain in itself, encompassing all that is New Hollycopse and more still yet – including further articles and essays also written and edited by the fastidious and ever-pragmatic Idol.

A website that she created by fully hacking a WordPress default theme and bending it to her will became to some extent her publicity platform during the short rockin’ and rollin’ period, and is now being utilised as Sharron’s personal website.

This girl may be a genius who fell short of her calling, or maybe she’s just an overly-pragmatic intellectual who fell just short of the genius mark. Whichever way you like to look at it; Sharron Idol has something for you: currently a very cleverly-woven fable of a world not far away from our own in which Callie Messam, a girl with true gusto, gets up and goes – but finds that things aren’t quite as she’d expected that they were and would be.
