‘Confusing already isn’t it? – Legalese usually is to the untrained eye. – Let’s move on..
Comments.
I’ll try to make it a bit easier for you to read: When visitors leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address plus the browser user agent string, in order to assist in spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.
The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media.
Be careful what you upload for display online: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies.
Relax; there is no ‘Cookie Monster’: If you leave a comment on this site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website. Cookies, consisting of a line or two of code, are sent to be stored on your device so that it will be recognised when you return. These cookies are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year unless you manually remove them from your device.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies are set up to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites.
Sometimes, you may find content from and/or linking to other websites: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. ads, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and even embed additional third-party tracking, plus monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.(This happens all the time on pretty much every website.)
Who your data is shared with.
Revelation! : If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. – I know that probably means nothing; but that’s all I have for you on this.
How long is your data retained?
You give up the rights to anything that you publish on here: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that any follow up comment(s) can be recognised and approved automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.. (Even though all comments are normally held for moderation.)
For users who register on this website (if any), The personal information they provide in their user profile is also stored. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. (Except they cannot change their username.) Website administrators can also see and edit that information; although why any administrator would want to do that is beyond me!.
What rights do you have over your data?
In short; some, but not a lot: If you have an account on this site, or you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data that this site holds about you, including any data you have provided to Sharron-Idol by posting it here. You can also request that any personal data we hold about you is erased. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent.
Final revelation: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. – Yup that’s all: Sharron-Idol does not sell your data. – In fact she probably doesn’t even see that much if any of it.
‘Just to add that, in the case of any Legal disputes arising in relation to this website or its owner; the Legal system presiding over matters of Law shall be the English judicial system, as used in the Country of England in the United Kingdom on planet Earth.
So there you have it.
– Wasn’t that an exciting read?
– I bet you’re raring to read more already..
Don’t worry; the contents of this site are normally much more interesting than they were on this page. 🙂
