This sitemap on this page is generated by PHP code which is coded as a part of the theme itself, rather than being generated by a plugin. It’s the result of a clever bit of geekery developed by me; Sharron-Idol.
To be perfectly straightforward; I don’t see why anybody actually uses a plugin for the purpose, when it’s so simple to add a sitemap template containing fairly simple PHP code to the theme – pretty much any theme – and make at least some saving on loading the database. In fact the idea is so elementary that I can’t see why all theme developers don’t include a sitemap template by default in every theme that they produce. – It’s not as if the PHP coding to do so is hard to learn. It’s also not as if the theme’s user is forced to use the sitemap template: That statement is borne out by the fact that if this page containing this piece of text hadn’t been published as a page on this WordPress self-hosted site, using the HTML sitemap (Article Inventory) template; then you’d not even know that the built-in sitemap exists, as you wouldn’t see it.
I’m surprised that someone didn’t have the idea before I did.
